Purpose: The "Dropper Knot" is not used too extensively, but we think it's such a keen one, we thought you should learn to tie it. It is used to make a "spur" off of your leader (even fly line) to create a connection loop to which can be attached another fly or weight. |
Step 1: Using your favorite of the two try-line sections, form a loop as indicated (with the tag end on top of the running line)

Step 2: With your right hand, pinch
the right side of the loop between your index finger and thumb and pull it down and over
the running line . . .

Step 3: Continue this same wrapping process, making up to 4-5 turns;

Step 4: To tighten,
pull outward on both ends of the line with your hands while holding the loop in your
teeth.
