"Streamer" . . .  what does the term, "streamer", mean?

Practically ? . . .

  •  "streamer" refers to that class of flies fished under the water to imitate fish or other aquatic animals upon which fish feed.
  • Though not fully exclusive, streamers are generally not meant to represent insects.  In this course, we will adopt a "subclass" of streamers we call "specialty flies" to expand further on flies that do not simulate insects, but suggest  other food types fish prefer.
