Tackle, including fly rods, reels, lines and leaders, are not covered in this course.  There is a separate course for each of these topics.

Suspenders

Suspenders are made to hold up your waders  They also hold up pants.

We often call waders, "wader pants."

Suspenders that hold up your “wader pants” should be reliable.  This is usually not an issue  provided that:

1.  they are made of quality elasticized material that will not stretch out with use and "droop";
2.  the elasticized strapping material is wide (as opposed to narrow, which digs in to the shoulders);
3.  construction ensures that they will disperse the "load" evenly across both shoulders;
4. they are easily adjustable;
5. they will fold up & travel small & light

When purchasing modern stocking foot waders, they will likely come with suspenders.  These are often the best solution, as they are designed specifically for use with the waders.  If not, be sure to select a pair that matches the waders you intend wear.
