Micro
Caddis inhabit the bottoms of clear lakes, streams and rivers throughout
hilly and mountainous regions of North America, excluding the extreme
southeast. The tiny larva are net-spinning and case-building
types: some build flat shelters shaped like silken coins attached to
rocks; others can look like a collection of quonset huts. Pupa seal
themselves in potato-shaped protective cases. Spring to late summer
emergence.
