"Dark Brown Drake"
species: adult mayfly
 type: dry

sizes: #12 - 16

Good big fish dry fly.  One of larger mayflies.  Naturals often active at dusk and beyond with both duns and spinners on the water simultaneously, requiring proper fly selection.  Similar to timing, appearance and use of Green Drake activity.

Fish: trout, panfish

"Dark Hendrickson"
species: adult mayfly
 type: dry

sizes: #12 - 16

Traditional eastern dry fly.  Coloration can vary greatly from stream to stream: Yellow, tans, olives. Naturals often have all stages on the water at once: hatching nymphs, duns, spinners.  Fish strike these dries hard.

Fish: trout, panfish

"Dave's Hopper"
species: grasshopper
 type: dry

sizes: #8 - 12

A popular western hopper fly designed by Dave Whitlock.  Casts and floats well.  Excellent for trout, bass and panfish.  Also passes for adult stoneflies and largest caddisflies.

Fish: trout, panfish, bass

"Dave's MouseRat"
species: mice, rats
 type: specialty

sizes: #2 - 6

Imitates mice and rats that become "waterborn".  When they do, they are quite a temptation to large fish.  Fished dry with action to suggest a struggling animal.  Very realistic fly.

Fish: trout, panfish, bass, pike

"Deerhair Frog"
species: Bass, Pike, Saltwater
 type: specialty

sizes: #2 - 4

Imitates a frog swimming on the surface.  Can also be fished with a sinking line to impart swimming action under the water and then "pops up" on the surface.  Normally fish with action.

Fish: trout, panfish, bass, pike

"Egg Fly"
species: Salmon, Steelhead
 type: specialty

sizes: #4 - 8

Imitates salmon eggs.  One of those "oddities" in fly fishing: imitating a non-insect, non-animal object.  In circumstances where fish are committed, this is the only fly that will produce fish.

Fish: trout, salmon, steelhead
