This is a relatively new pattern used primarily on large western rivers to simulate adult stoneflies.  It is particularly tied for the "Salmon Fly".

This is a well-known western fly that serves multiple functions: looks/acts like nymphs, worms, baitfish, etc.  Fished wet with and without sinking lines/weight.

Excellent sow water nymph.  Resembles a variety of immature insect foods for fish.  Often fished with sinking tip/line.  Fly can be weighted, too.
