"Stu Apte"
species: Tarpon
 type: saltwater

sizes: 1/0 - 4/0

Named after the well known saltwater flyfisherman, Stu Apte.  A "standard" fly for fishing for Tarpon on the flats.  Needs to be tied on a sturdy hook made for saltwater.  Comes in a variety of different colors.

Fish: tarpon

"Ted's Stonefly"
species: stonefly nymph
 type: nymph

sizes: #8 - 12

This is what we call a "replica" fly.  It is tied to exactly replicate the natural insect.  This type of fly looks good in the fly shop, but often loses its delicate "realism" after fishing in the "real world".  We prefer more resilient "imitative" patterns.

Fish: trout, panfish

"Trico Spinner"
species: mayfly
 type: dry

sizes: #14 - 24

Familiar to experienced "match-the-hatchers", this tiny fly produces when others fail.  Midges are prevalent insects and the "trico" is a good all around fly to use when you need to "go smaller".  Naturals often appear in large numbers, making for active angling.  Have both dun & spinner patterns.

Fish: trout, panfish

"Tunghead Green Weenie"
species: caddis larva
 type: nymph

sizes: #18 - 24

A beadhead style nymph suggesting a caddis larva.  Like other beadheads, also more broadly accepted for a variety of immature aquatic insects.   Used in both moving and stillwater environs.

Fish: trout, panfish

"Undertaker"
species: various baitfish
type: Atlantic Salmon fly

sizes: #4 - 12

A common pattern used for Atlantic Salmon.  Typical style for these flies most often used in larger, "sea-run" freshwater rivers used by Atlantic Salmon.  Fished unweighted on floating or sinking lines.

Fish: Atlantic Salmon

"WD 40 Midge"
species: midge pupa
 type: nymph

sizes: #16 - 24

Cute name for an effective, hard-working midge imitation.  Made to sit in or just under the surface where naturals are found.  Generally fished quite still in calm water where fish get a good look at things.

Fish: trout, panfish
